This place was ok. The other guests that stayed here let me know it was not a good value for the price. Although they do give the place a quick wipe down and vacuum, it's in serious need a deep cleaning and some TLC. Also, every one of the guests in our unit scalded themselves on the water. Luckily, I only scalded my hand, one of the other guests got scalded in the shower. There is only one TV in the main room, so you're stuck watching whatever other guests are watching. I was pretty apalled when my husband went to the front desk to borrow a hair dryer and we had to leave a $50 deposit! The front desk was very helpful and friendly, they suggested some amazing places to eat. Much appreciated.

This is undoubtedly the worst motel I have ever stayed at in New Zealand. I should have known. It wasn’t boding well when I walked into the Reception area and noted how dirty the carpet was, the walls badly chipped and marked and the sweet, sickly, permeating smell of many a previously cooked meal. Shown to our room (which we had upgraded from a ‘shared bathroom’ set up to an ensuite room for an extra $60), our senses were assaulted by the smell of a ‘plug-in’ wall air freshener that was so strong it had us wondering what it was trying to mask. Shabby, old, tired and bashed furniture, snagged and dirty bed bases with no valences, light switches that clearly hadn’t seen cleaning products for a while, we decided to leave. We were offered a further upgrade to a bigger room and as we couldn’t find anything nearer to our next days meeting point, we hesitantly took it. Very little change at all. Weary from our travels, we decided to stick it out. It was only the next morning, in the light of day, that I really paid attention to some of the finer details I missed the night before. The photos will give the reader an idea. This place is a dump and I hope our overseas tourists don’t think the rest of our hoteliers operate at this level.

Our recent stay at Alpine View Lodge in Wanaka was a mixed experience. The location, nestled on the edge of Wanaka, offered both convenience and tranquillity. The lodge sits on a nice property, surrounded by stunning mountain views. Unfortunately, the fireplace in our cottage didn't work, which was disappointing. Whilst this may not be an issue during summer, it made for a cold stay during winter as the single air-conditioner took a long time to warm the cottage. For the price, compared to other similar properties, we felt the furnishings were on the budget end, which whilst practical, was disappointing. The Alpine View Lodge offers a peaceful retreat with a few drawbacks. If you're looking for a quiet escape in Wanaka, it's worth considering, but be prepared for some minor inconveniences.

Ok place to stay. Peaceful until the morning when the helicopters and planes right next door leap into action. Kitchenette in our cabin wasn't very well stocked. Restaurant is not open for breakfast, but they had some pies and sandwiches left over from the previous day for sale, plus the very limited food options in the shop. Each cabin is private and separate from the other cabins. No wifi in the cabins, you need to go to the lounge for that. Vodafone cell coverage is fine.

What a wonderful place to stay! Really helpful and friendly staff, very clean facilities, lovely setting with park next door, nice indoor and outdoor cooking and eating spaces, great coffee cart on site, 4-Square grocery shop just around the corner, short walk to nearby river and historic town centre, lots to see and do nearby. Already looking forward to my next visit :)

하스트 패스 (Haast Pass)의 고산 아름다움을 지나 SH6 하강 후 하와 호수를 지나 와나카 (Wanaka)로 내려 가면 숙소를 찾는 데 어려움을 겪었습니다. 롯지는 해안가 Ardmore St에서 떨어진 마을의 남쪽 부분에 위치하고 있으며 Helwick St를 운전하여 양쪽에 여러 상점을 지나 Brownston과 Upton의 두 길을 건너 Warren Street까지 가파르고 왼쪽에서 급격히 내려갑니다. 우리는 큰 킹 사이즈 침대가 있는 넓은 방과 Cardrona Resort와 Mt Aspiring National Park를 향한 전망이 있는 외부 좌석 공간을 받았습니다. 주방/식당, 거실/라운지가 몇 개 있었고 다른 주민들과 공유했으며 오후 중반부터 늦은 오후/이른 저녁까지 리셉션이 유인되었습니다. 나중에 액세스는 보안 디지털 잠긴 문을 통해 이루어졌습니다. 조정은 이례적이었지만 Helwick Street를 쉽게 걸어갈 수 있는 레스토랑과 상점이 있는 시내 중심가 가장자리에서 완벽하게 편안하고 조용했습니다. 우리는 와나카에 머물렀던 이틀 동안 호수에서 수영할 시간이 있었습니다. 두 날 모두 오후 중반에 30c 정도 더웠고, 얼음 호수 wqters에 뛰어들어 안심했습니다. 우리 딸이 우리에게 베이 오브 플렌티(Bay of Plenty)에서 백업을 소개한 매일의 냉수 수영과 대조되는 경험은 바닷물처럼 부력적이지 않고 눈에 띄게 더 맑았습니다.
