We stayed at Wave Street Inn for a few nights in mid/late June. Upon arrival we encountered what was truly a minor room issue, but the way it was handled by the front desk was incredibly unprofessional, humiliating, and inexcusable, to the point that we asked if we could check out of this motel early, without a penalty (and the only reason for the missing 5th stars). Jon came to our rescue, and went so above and beyond to make things right for us. He gave us a new room (fresh start) and even checked up on us the next day. His genuine concern, professionalism, and friendliness was heartwarming. Christine, too, was helpful to us, giving us great advice about things to do in the area, and Carol was very warm and welcoming when we made our reservations. These are the people (especially Jon) who would make us come back to Wave Street Inn again and again. As for the Inn, it's a reminiscent of a mid-century motel, a bit dated but with tons of character, comfy bed with nice linens, and super strong water pressure in the shower. And nice and clean. If I had one wish: that the motel provided conditioner along with the shampoo. The conditioning shampoo doesn't really work; I thought that the hand lotion was the conditioner and used that the first night. A fun story to tell, anyway! One more huge positive... the location (fantastic) and the AMAZING Wave Street Cafe across the street. Best breakfast ever!

Wir waren leider nur eine Nacht in diesem zauberhaften Hotel. Man merkt sofort, dass dieses mit sehr viel Liebe eingerichtet und geführt wird. Wir haben schon viele Hotels gesehen, aber noch niemals hatten wir das Gefühl in einem Märchen zu sein. Gerne würden wir mehr als 5 Sterne vergeben. Wir haben den Kamin am Abend in unserem Zimmer genossen, alles war sehr sauber. Das Bett war sehr bequem.. Das ausgiebige Frühstück wurde uns zur gewünschten Uhrzeit in unser Zimmer gebracht. Danke für das Glas Wein zur Begrüßung!

The Monterey Plaza continues to be outstanding. From the view of the bay, to the luxurious sheets, everything in our room was for our enjoyment. Every staff interaction, from the front desk to the valet, was friendly, but professional. At the top, the Spa meets your needs, whether it's being pampered or working out on the machines; sipping wine by the outside fireplace is a favorite. Our visit was a wonderful escape from the daily pressures of life.

My stay at Cannery Row Inn in Monterey was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. We were given an accessibility room, but it was anything but accessible. The furniture was scratched and damaged, and there was a large tear in the carpet. The shower head was adjustable, but it kept sliding back to the bottom if raised, making it practically unusable. Worst of all, the bathroom door sticks so badly that my wife and I both got trapped inside at different points and needed each other's help to get out. This would be a nightmare for someone with accessibility needs, especially if they were in a wheelchair. The room overlooked a busy street, and the noise was unbearable. I was shocked that it's even legal to rent out such a noisy room. I had hoped it would be quieter at night, but loud cars drove by constantly. Around 4 AM, delivery trucks heading to Cannery Row added to the noise, making it impossible to sleep. Even with noise-canceling headphones, I could still hear the traffic all night long. It's a shame because, in the rare moments of quiet, you could just make out the sound of the waves. The only positive thing I can say is that the location is great—just a block from the ocean and near lots of fun things to walk to. But that doesn't make up for the awful experience we had. If you're considering a room on their terrace, be aware that everyone can access the space outside your room. You'll have no privacy and certainly won't feel comfortable sleeping with your door open. When I checked out the next day, the employee at the front desk was on her cell phone and seemed completely uninterested in my concerns. I mentioned the issue with the bathroom door, explaining that it would be a serious problem for someone in a wheelchair, and she just looked at me blankly. When I brought up how poorly I slept due to the road noise, she simply responded, ”Yeah, it's a busy road.” No apologies, no sympathy—nothing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially if you have accessibility needs. The location is great, but the poor condition of the room and the lack of concern from the staff make it a place to avoid.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night visit to The Jabberwock Inn. This is a beautifully restored 1911 Craftsman cottage centrally located in Monterey close to everything one would want in Monterey. The Inn is filled with beautiful Quarter sawn oak furniture that gives it a very homey atmosphere. Rick, Suzanne and Dorothy were great hosts and were very informative about everything related to the Inn as well as surrounding restaurants and wineries to visit. Breakfasts and evening wine and snacks were all freshly prepared and presented. We highly recommend this B&B and will stay here again on our next trip to Monterey. Thanks for a great experience!

This hotel is absolutely amazing! Beautifully decorated, clean and exclusive. It has oceanview and is located in walking distance to Cannery Row with plenty of restaurants and shops. The straff took great care of us! Juri welcomed us and gave us a tour of the hotel. She made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We will be back😊

This is a wonderful , beautiful, amazing bed and breakfast! Where do i start? Location is incredible! Quick walk to Cannery Row or into town in Pacific Grove or to Lovers Point. It’s directly across the street from the ocean so the views are magnificent! The bike pathq is directly across the street and the hotel will provide you free of charge bikes. My husband and so went on an absolutely gorgeous 8 mile ride along the coast. Amazing! The main house: from the outside it’s a traditional looking home but inside the decorating was modern beach and stunning!!! It’s comfy yet fashionable! And the views are amazing! There are cookies all day , wine and cheese in the afternoon and a yummy breakfast each morning. We stayed in the back building and had an incredible suite with blocked views of the ocean. We had a fireplace , large sitting area, large bathroom with tub and separate shower and a king bed. The room was decorated beautifully. Our fireplace had some issues but they sent someone to fix it and also gave us a pretty significant credit (before we even had to ask) for our difficulty. The staff are kind and helpful. 5 stars all the way! We will be back!!!

Very comfortable hotel conveniently located in downtown Monterey and short distance from 17 Mile Drive. Rooms are spacious and staff is very friendly. Room amenities are: individual sized coffee pot and mini fridge as well as standard hair dryer, toiletries and iron. Microwaves can be delivered to your room by request at no additional cost. The Marriott has a bar and serves breakfast (not included in room rate) and other meals. It is connected to the Monterey Convention Center so if you are attending a conference, this is the best place to be. If you need parking, be aware, only valet parking is available at $40 per day with in and out privileges. There are a couple parking garages with hourly rates within a couple block walk, they do not have in and out privileges. Valet service takes about 10-15 minutes to get your car depending on time of day. Mornings were a little longer wait. Wifi is not free unless you are a Bonvoy Member, you can sign up on the spot. Would stay here again.

We ended up here last minute due to the excessive hot weather and my ac not working properly. Our room was clean it just lacks complementary shampoo and conditioner thankfully I packed some. There was no hair dryer :( which was a bummer. The Ac though worked 100%! There was parking available but the spaces are a little tight. This ain’t a luxury location but it’s a good spot to sleep for the night. I would have liked another blanket lol but it’s ok I survived! There was an old lady sitting smoking on the stairs which I found interesting though because they told me there was no smoking allowed. The old lady wouldn’t move for us to go down the stairs so we had to kind of forcefully go over her bumping into her smh! Overall it’s an ok spot!

인디언들이 호텔을 오픈한 느낌이고, 복도와 방에는 인디언 오일 냄새가 난다. 오후 2시에 도착해서 바로 체크인을 보냈습니다. 주차는 번호판 등록 후 무료입니다. 스위트룸이지만 큰 침대에 불과하지만 호텔은 여전히 시내에서 조금 떨어져 있습니다. 엑스트라 베드에는 적합하지 않지만 소파에서 혼자 잘 수 있습니다. 아침 식사는 매우 간단하고 고기가 없었습니다. 깨끗하고 무취. 실제로 벽난로가 있습니다.

First of all, there is NO FREE BREAKFAST. After we paid and checked in we were asked if we had questions and I asked where we got breakfast and the answer was ”there is no breakfast.” I said that their website advertised free breakfast, and they acknowledged that yes, it did, but there was none. This was after we had paid, of course. And why bother changing something if it will make you more money? But I calculated the budget with that in mind, and suddenly it's dramatically smaller since I'll have to go out to eat. Since they are literally, unapologetically, not giving part of what we paid for, I removed two stars. The whole thing was skeezy, and of course most hotels are sold out now so it's not like we could just go somewhere Else. The entire thing is super unethical. Also, we checked in as two people and they only gave us a single room key, which was super inconvenient. As far as the rooms, they're clean, small. Very, very hard mattresses but the bed in our room made a weird, large metallic sound when we got on it, and occasionally when moving. There's a microwave and a larger than average mini fridge, the former of which is not common. There's no bath but the shower is nice and probably better than a cramped bath would be. Not enough room for toiletries though, as for some reason they decided to block the only toiletry shelf with those unhygienic built in ones, which literally only have poor quality shampoo and shower gel. I'd rather have nothing than this. :( The walls are thin and you can pretty much hear everything outside your room, but it's not in a super busy area at least or close to the highway so it's not too bad. Also, it has good ac, which was already on when we checked in, which was nice. They also allowed us to check in 30 minutes early, but that in no way makes up for the lack of breakfast, and their reaction to it, like they didn't just bait and switch us, and sell us something they didn't deliver. I could have booked somewhere else cheaper, or somewhere else that actually offered breakfast which would have made it cheaper in the long run, and I am deeply displeased. Especially because it was so expensive (prices were up because the air show. Not why I was there but it meant hotels were full and prices were insanely high.) Honestly, for very little difference in price I could have gotten someplace much nicer, or, again, with breakfast. Also, if you are coming as a tourist it's worth noting it's quite a walk from any of the big tourist locations (aquarium, fisherman's warf, etc) Pros: AC!!! Microwave Larger than average mini fridge Shower so close to being nice except the toiletry situation Cons: No breakfast Small size No view Poor service Thin walls Location Could go either way: Hard mattresses. Great if you like it, sucks if you don't. Price: it was very pricey when we booked, but other days it seemed pretty average or even lower, so this seems to be a timing thing. The bed was SO uncomfortable! Hard and uneven... desperately needing to be replaced. As others have stated, there is super-harsh overhead lighting only. The pool and exterior are under major construction as of April 2023. This is a very basic (but clean) motel that is showing its age. The price was right off-season (mid-week), but there are no frills or comforts to be found here.

좋은 위치, 오래된 어부의 부두까지 도보로 10분, 오른쪽에 중국 슈퍼마켓이 있습니다. 객실 구조가 합리적이고 사용이 간편하며 침구와 소파가 편안합니다. 차가운 식사는 로비에서 16:00에 제공되며 햄 치즈 과일 와인이 아주 좋습니다. 아침 식사로 뜨거운 음식과 고기가 없습니다. 죄송합니다. 전반적으로 좋고 추천할만한 가치가 있습니다. 몬테레이 마을은 아름답고 수족관 근처에는 주차장이 없으며 17마일은 아름답고 낙타 마을의 해안선은 놀랍습니다.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night visit to The Jabberwock Inn. This is a beautifully restored 1911 Craftsman cottage centrally located in Monterey close to everything one would want in Monterey. The Inn is filled with beautiful Quarter sawn oak furniture that gives it a very homey atmosphere. Rick, Suzanne and Dorothy were great hosts and were very informative about everything related to the Inn as well as surrounding restaurants and wineries to visit. Breakfasts and evening wine and snacks were all freshly prepared and presented. We highly recommend this B&B and will stay here again on our next trip to Monterey. Thanks for a great experience!

This was a great place to stay. The staff are nice.The manager is very helpful. We plan to stay here again soon. I really enjoyed our stay in Monterey and at the beach.! Room service did not used to stronger chemicals, we are glad because we are sensitive to chemicals. Thank you. Sherry and Romeo

Best Western Plus Monterey Inn has the potential of being a good hotel provided it addresses several problems. On the plus side the rooms are comfortable, good coffee and tea service available 24 hours, filtered water machine in the lobby helps avoid waste. Unfortunately the breakfast is worse than what I experienced in the past at Best Westerns with very few options to choose from. The hot tub was broken - this was not mentioned when the reservation was made. The pool was not properly heated nor cleaned. Requesting identification while asking for pool towels makes guests feel unwelcome. Addressing these problems is not difficult and would help improve the overall experience of staying at this hotel.
