the room was overall clean, but we didn’t sleep on the sheets because of previous reviews. bathroom was clean and AC worked. Hotel itself smelled weird and there was bulletproof glass at the front desk. the area was very sketchy, try not to be outside of the room at night. people outside trying to sell *****. Some guy even came up to the car window. hotel staff was very nice though.

I DO NOT and will NEVER EVER RECOMMEND staying in this HOTEL. NEVER I will be back. I had to cut my stay short as I do not feel comfortable anymore at all. As a long time member of Marriott Bonvoy (Titanium Elite), this property does not represent the true Hotel Marriott. All the five stars review that you will see in their reviews are all faked as they are bribing customers that if you give them five star review thru Trilp advisor they will give you 20,000 points and Google review that they will give you 10,000 points. Staying here makes you feel as if you were walking in the egg shell even though you are a paying customer that you had to be the one to make the staffs comfortable than vice versa. From Assistant General Manager Michael Lessing, that if you give feedback to let them know that their staffs are Not in the same page, the Assistant General Manager will Tell You that your are very DEMANDING that they watch and listen how you speak with his staffs . (Ok be careful, as every Moved and every word you say you are being watch and being listened In this hotel Which makes me Feel even more uncomfortable and to even think that there Might even be Camera inside my room), to front desk staffs And housekeeping with an attitude. The room they gave me has a refrigerator that had rust all over the door. Spider on the ceiling. Door that won’t open right away (for safety inspection, you will get stuck inside if in case there was a fire). Clog sink, even I already told them that the sink was clogged and yet they did not even fixed it. They will not even bother to send you a 24 hour notice to let you know that there will be some noises due to their landscaping that was scheduled the following day as not to bother you in your sleep or while your relaxing. I will not come back in this hotel and I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND staying here and there is no POINT as well in wasting your money in this Hotel. Even I am a very very long time Marriott Bonvoy member I do not post any reviews not unless it is very necessary so to let everyone knows how is the stay in these property and how you will be treated with rudeness and all the fake five star reviews. If I were you I will not waste my money and time and energy staying in this said place.

Should have checked out the reviews prior to booking this hotel for a two-night stay. We pulled up to the hotel just as two police cars and an ambulance were driving into the convenience store across the street. Not wanting to stick around to find out what was going on, we drove south, out of the downtown area, to a rundown Holiday Inn Express there. Called Candlewood to cancel and told them why—they still kept the $300 representing one night’s stay. No plans to ever return to Hartford.

We paid over 500 for one night for a room with two queen beds. Parking was an additional $19. Room was just OK. A family member paid the same for a room with two double beds that was filthy and smelly and near construction in the building. Their room was so horrible, they decided to leave and drive over 4 hours to go home instead. We expected more from Hilton. We couldn't even get a cup of coffee unless we paid $25 for breakfast!

We have been going to the Residence Inn in Hartford for more than a decade. Up until now, we have found the hotel to be a perfect place for a night or two. While the Marriott staff was friendly and welcoming, our stay this past weekend was disappointing due to the condition of the room. From cracks in the bathroom tiles, to worn out carpet and furniture, chips and scrapes most everywhere including a two-inch hole in one wall and a popped-up ceiling tile with a cut wire tangling down near the shower head, what used to be a newly renovated landmark hotel in 2014, has become saddle sore, weary and scruffy. Even the pamphlet for the Marriott Bonvoy Card was a sign of neglect. It is really a shame since most of what we noted are cosmetic issues. With nightly rates getting near $400.00 a night, there is no value left in staying in this old shoe. We hope that an overdue renovation is the works. In the meantime, we will look elsewhere when we head for Hartford.
