One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in; and for the last 50 years, I've spent 1/3 of each year in hotels, be it business or pleasure. On the positive side I can only say it is nicely located, close to the lake and the staff, if young and quite inexperienced, is nice. We started in a standard room which was horrible: tiny balcony with no view whatsover, full of paint stains all over the place, moisture in the bathroom, cheap looking and old furniture etc. So we changed to a junior suite. At least there was some view but not only did everything also look very oldish (yes the hotel is called Design Suites, but in the style of the 70s with no upkeep...) but for the first time in my life I saw this suite was ”provided” with: - no aircon (it was in the 30s during our stay - no tissues - no face towel - no shaving mirror - a boiler but no coffee bags (and only 2 tea bags!!) - only 2 electric plugs with international adaptors - 2 armchairs with a torn plastic cover - curtains not closing properly - if 2 robes were provided, both were child size and we were 2 adults - toilet flush not working properly Public area in the building we were staying were filthy: look at the pictures I took from the lift to the room! And to put a very sour cherry on the cake, at breakfast which was included in our tariff, we were charged for boiled eggs and expressos!!! We've stayed in close to 10 hotels in Argentine and this is truly a first time. I truly wonder if the general manager of this place is located 10000 miles away.

Estuvimos de paso por Bariloche y pasamos la noche en el complejo Villa Huapi. Nos alejamos en un departamento con vista al lago si bien eramos dos tenia capacidad para cuatro personas. Realmente superó nuestras expectativas. La atencion tanto previamente a la reserva como cuando llegamos fue excelente y el departamento no solo era más que cómodo sino que tenía un balcón con una vista privilegiada. Si o si hay que tener auto . Disfrutamos por la mañana de un completo desayuno pero es opcional al momento de contratar

No soy de escribir en portales pero esta vez quise hacerlo, me senti en el deseo de hacerlo. Las gaviotas fue una de las mejores experiencia de alojamiento en mi vida. Fui a muchisimos lugares pero este realmente me encanto, el lugar en si era tal pero tal cual lo que vi en las fotos, ahora la calidad humana y de atención y predisposición hicieron la diferencia, podria contar un ejemplo por cada dia que estuve alli, agradezco haber podido estar. Lo recomiendo absolutamente y espero que siempre sean asi.

We were extremely disappointed with this hotel Yes, the location is good, but so many other things were tired and hopelessly dated. I can’t remember when I have ever stayed in a hotel anywhere that did not have individual temperature controls in the room. The shower was very slippery and the water temperature was uneven. The bathroom amenities were minimal, given the price for the rooms. And instant coffee in the room?? Every other hotel we stayed at in Argentina had a Keurig or Nespreso machine. Finally, we are becoming accustomed to finding USB ports in hotel rooms for our devices and there were none. Fortunately I had my own adapters, because the hotel had run out of them. I believe this hotel has a 4-star rating, but this was no 4-star experience. Also I reached out to this hotel several times via email and had no reply. There was no manager available during our stay.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel and an even more serene setting, with the perfect view of the lake and mountains each morning. The staff -- Marilu, Ezra, Lucy and the others -- were so helpful and friendly. Really the ideal place to stay btwn the more touristic downtown and the sometimes chaotic circuito area. Well-situated to access both while being able to escape. We only ate at the restaurant once but it was delicious.
