It was lovely to arrive and be greated by friendly efficient staff, to have a revitalizing dip in the pool, then relax in the lush peaceful gardens. We opted to have a braai, the braai pack and salads were very good.

So glad we decided to stay overnight at Travalia Guest Farm. We booked the family cottage - we stayed in number 34. Secure parking. Fabulous, well maintained space and the cottage was so clean . Very clean bedding and comfortable beds and pillows. A lovely stoep to enjoy the outside area. Nice thick soft towels. Some complimentary tea, coffee and milk. Efficient staff who communicated to us on WhatsApp. The bonus is that there's a restaurant on site and the food was great too. We pre-ordered our dinner - the lamb dishes are the best. We didn't get time to enjoy the pool. The only criticism I have is that free WiFi is restricted to 100mb which is very skimpy. Overall an excellent halfway stay over when travelling between JHB and Cape Town. Highly recommended and well definitely stay here again if we have to do a road trip.

Travalia offers good value for money. It is a great setting, and perfect halfway stop between Cape Town and Johannesburg. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly and helpful. They offer a great dinner option - authentic Karoo food and delicious!

We have been staying over at Travalia for many years. Unfortunately our last two stayovers were not so good. Both incidents had to do with the reception. With our last stayover we had to choose our food for the restuarant the previous day and also the time. The whatsapp stated that the last sitting was at 19h15. We chose the 19h15 sitting. When we arrived the receptionist asked us to change our sitting to 18h45. When we told her that that was a bit early and we would rather stick to our chosen time which was made the previous day, she curtly informed us that the restuarant closes at 19h30. When we said that we would come at 19h00, she once more told us that we must take note that the restuarant closes at 19h30. From then on there would be no farther service. How can you make your last session 19h15 as stated in the prior arrangements from Travalia, and then expect your guests to be finished 15 minutes later? This has been our experience with the last two visits. The whole relaxed atmosphere of previous visits no longer exist. This is totally unacceptable for a place like Travalia. One gets the impression that the staff want to get the guests out of the restuarant as early as possible, so that they can close the restuarant.
