Positives Some of the staff were exceptional and truly went above and beyond: 1) The cleaning staff were incredibly happy and even joined me in a short dance in the hallway accompanying music that was playing. 2) Narie-Ange from the gym area was wonderful in assisting me with my needs and in understanding the issues currently plaguing Lebanon. She spent a lot of her time... 3) Garine from reception was extraordinary, staying after her shift had ended to assist me with organization and with local contacts. She has been invaluable. Negatives: 1) My booking was with the nearby Hilton Metropolitan but although the booking was accepted and no communication was forthcoming, that Hilton was closed and my booking was unilaterally transferred to the Hilton Habtoor. 2) When I arrived at the Habtoor, the receptionist had no record of my reservation. After 15 minutes, my reservation was finally located. 3) I requested a higher floor than what I was allocated, and the receptionist indicated she could do that within two hours. After over two hours, another receptionist stated the move was not possible??? This inconsistency was resolved the following day. 4) My in-room phone didn’t work initially. I learned the cable was too small and as a result, disconnected every time the phone was used. 5) My tv didn’t work initially. The problem was solved by manipulating the cables. 6) A wire is hanging out of a hole in a wall next to the lifts on the 9th floor. 7) Room service required a cash payment, which had not been communicated to me. The waiter had to leave and return with a MPOS to complete the transaction. That said, the room service food was very good.
