I had the pleasure of visiting Mangalore on the 17th of October 2023, where I was greeted with a warm welcome despite my late arrival at night after a 12-hours long journey. One of the first things that captured my attention was a stunning wall-to-wall mural behind the front office desk. This remarkable artwork vividly depicted the cultural heritage of Karnataka, featuring Kola performances, Kambala races, and other local traditions that have gained recent pan-India popularity thanks to the movie ”Kantara.” It served as a captivating introduction to the exciting experiences that awaited me during my stay. Let's talk about the accommodation. The rooms were tastefully appointed and impeccably clean. I particularly appreciated the Skylight Suites, which, while lacking a balcony, featured a beautifully decorated and spacious sitting area with a skylight adjacent to the main room. This clever design made the room feel more expansive. However, it's worth mentioning that the washrooms could benefit from better ventilation. In terms of dining, the food was satisfactory, but I would suggest diversifying the menu to include more vegetarian options to cater to a wider range of preferences. Now, let me highlight the standout feature of my stay – the in-house transportation services provided by the hotel. They operated with exceptional efficiency, boasting well-maintained and spotlessly clean vehicles. The chauffeurs were not only punctual but also displayed the utmost professionalism. I must give a special commendation to Mr. Balraj, who not only ensured our smooth transport to the temples we had planned to visit but also offered valuable insights into darshan durations. His willingness to take us to additional temples during our journeys, such as the Mariamman Temple in Mangalore, Rajarajeshwari Temple in Polali, Bappanadu Parameshwari Temple in Mulki, and Uchchila Maha Lakshmi on the way to Udupi (and possibly more that I can't recall at the moment) was truly exceptional. His knowledge of cultural immersion opportunities, especially during Navratris, was remarkable, and he even introduced us to experiences like the Yakshagana performance at Kadri Manjunatheswar. As my trip had a strong focus on pilgrimage, his insights into these sacred places were invaluable. His careful and considerate approach as a driver was exemplary. Not once did he engage in rash driving, even in the challenging and treacherous forested, mountainous routes that we encountered. Furthermore, Mr. Balraj's helpful nature shone brightly throughout our journey. With my elderly parents accompanying me, his assistance was greatly appreciated. He went above and beyond to ensure their comfort and well-being, offering his support at every turn. His unwavering dedication to both our safety and enjoyment of the trip made him an indispensable part of our experience. Mr. Balraj truly embodies the spirit of excellence in service. Location was perfect. Hotel is located quite conveniently next to the city train station. We availed breakfast at the hotel and it was absolutely delicious but the quantity was limited unfortunately. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the ac unit worked flawlessly to keep the room nice and cool. On the flip side, the accessibility for seniors or people with leg or knee problems left a lot to be desired. The few flights of stairs have no hand rails and the entire entrance was slippery due to rain. This is a big safety hazard. The hotel neighborhood has a lot of active construction going on which made it very noisy in the day time. The tv was non functional and while we requested assistance it took a long time for the staff to come and take a look. Finally, the lobby raked off cigarette smoke throughout the day. While the room itself was free from the smell of tobacco this left me with a severe headache. Overall this contributed to an average experience.

Royal Plaza Suites, foremost, has a super location that is an arms throw away from major tourist sites and Malls in Mangalore city. Coupled with that, the spank cleanliness of the room, complete with all amenities like covered car parking, ironing board, fridge, kettle, free sauna, powerful AC right down to shoe shine was a real deal clincher, more so, considering it was reasonably priced. The staff were exceptionally courteous and, specifically, the security guards who were always available even at odd hours to guide you, into and out of the parking slot. For a small consideration, the security guard will even wash your dusty car. The complimentary breakfast buffet was stupendous. The room service from the vegetarian restaurant, Coconut Grove or the other non-veg restaurant, whose name escapes me at the moment, was quick and the food tasty. All in all, i wouldn't in the least bit hesitate to recommend this hotel enough to travelers. I am sure I will revisit it whenever i am back in Mangalore again Congratulations to the Management and Staff!! Please keep maintaining your high standards.

Do not book this hotel and waste your money like we did. Learnt it the hard way. The only decent thing about it is that it is near to railway station. It is a completely rundown hotel. We unfortunately booked the hotel by seeing other reviews, but we ran out of the hotel just 15 minutes after checking in. We had booked the junior suite and the room was very small and nothing like a suite. The sofa did not have sponges in them and we could almost feel the wooden structure underneath us. They had just sprayed the room with hit so there were dead cockroaches all over the room corners and underneath the tables. I am sure if we had stayed the night, we would have seen alive cockroaches as well. The corridors outside the rooms are dingy with no light and dirty and smelly. Just outside our room was a laundry room where the cleaners sat and ate and slept openly (Yes we saw all this in the 15 minutes we were there) and there were dirty beds kept outside on corridors. This place is not value for money in any sense. We lost our money but you guys don't. Learn from us and do not book this place. There are lot of good options in Mangalore.

Newly renovated, well furnished premium category hotel with reasonable pricing. Nice view from the hotel (highway view). Staffs are very cooperative and gentle. peaceful ambience. recommended for couples too.

This is a hotel with excellent views of the garden and above a mall and a station... However its dated.. Its not been worked on for decades... The decor is old and very dated. 3332 room we were in, the bathroom was like a propelled plane... Ancient... No blue tooth music. No nespresso coffee... Very 2 to 3 star kind and old... Got the high marks because of view and location. Not recommended... Bhagwan

I stayed here for 04 nights and it was my most comfortable stay. On day of arrival I found cooling in my room not as per my requirement. I needed more cooling. The concerned staff immediately adjusted the temperature of air conditioning and also put in table fan in room. Housekeeping was superb and housekeeping staff took appropriate care of my needs. Food was fresh and hygienic. Taste of buns, tandoori lachchha parathas and milk with turmeric was superb. However I didn’t find taste of vegetables clear soup on 21st October evening upto the mark. It was also not full hot, can be called warm. Front Desk staff were friendly and attentive. Hassle free check in and check out impressed me. The neatness and pleasant ambiance made my stay happy and memorable. I wish to put my appreciation for Mr Milan Samuel, GM and his whole team in record.
