The most pleasant staff I have encountered in a while. Lisa was flawless our entire stay. The backside of the hotel is renovated with gorgeous spacious rooms! The front side that’s facing the ocean is partially renovated and are still nice. Clean rooms. Floors can be a hit or miss but hey it’s the beach. Location is spot on. Don’t let the other bad reviews spoil it for you. They can’t please everyone and each of my stays here have been exceptional. Pricey but that’s the economy right now— & the beach!

I have started this review multiple times and just do not think I can convey just how fantastic this hotel is. If you’ve done any investigating on this area, you will know that Cape lookout Lighthouse is known as the diamond lady and in my opinion this hotel is a diamond in its own, right. Built in 1975 she has recently undergone a major renovation. While it is obvious the renovation is not complete I don’t believe you will find a better option. Clean beaches, beautiful views in very close proximity to multiple eateries. The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly, and we could not have asked for more. At the time of our stay, the restaurant was not open due to construction delays. However, we had the privilege of meeting the chef at the indoor bar area. We cannot wait for our next trip to taste his food. If you were looking for a quiet getaway, this is the perfect place. If you don’t understand, sitting on the beach and enjoying the surf and sand, it may not be your cup of tea. This is not for those that need to be commercially entertained. While this older girl has had a makeover she has a classic style and grace. Have and would 100% stay here again we would only change one thing we would have extended our stay.

Filthy Hotel. The room has not been properly cleaned. There was dirt and scum in all corners of the floor. The floor itself was filthy. There was hair in the sink, on the floors and in the tub. There were mosquitoes and gnats and bugs in the room constantly because the door did not seal properly. The AC did not work properly, it was noisy and made noise even when not running, the whole room ended up being damp and smelled moldy due to the bad AC. The clerk changed my reserved balcony room to room 100 when we arrived. Room 100 is right next to the Utility Room. This resulted in us being woke up every morning at 8 am with the big metal doors being banged every time a maid entered/ exited. The machinery that was being used was extremely loud. The Washing machine was apparently next to our dividing wall and the floors and beds shook all morning starting at 8 am. There were people with many small children in the two rooms next to ours as well as above our room. This resulted in being woke at random times all night by running and screaming children outside our door. The children were not supervised when outside or in the pool. The ICE machine was broke, and by past review has been for a long time. We got a ”the part was supposed to arrive today” excuse from the front desk for two days. Based on the other reviews, the manager is apparently not interested in fixing any issues. He will just reply with the same canned response to all problems. Needless to say, we did not get any rest and this was one of our worst experiences at a hotel.

Clean, Art Deco hotel with a full bar, excellent staff. Show check-in, but great front desk staff. Excellent bar tender but disappointed that the website stated a bistro and bar with small bites in the bar. However the only food was pretzels or wasabi pees. Breakfast offered in the morning. Website stated sharable plates of food in the bar but none. Rooms were clean. Hotel is a redecorated former major chain hotel so sinks and counters resemble those at Hampton Inn. Four floors. Nice views of golf course from upper floors. Pets allowed.

It's fine, it's fine. As mid-range beach hotels go, it was good. There is no way to keep things pristine in such a hotel location, with people coming from the beach and the constant rough weather - sunny and hot and humid, then cold, and storms. There is wear in the room and you can see sand in the cracks, scratches and dents throughout the room. We had a decent view of the ocean, it was sufficiently clean, and the pools were cleaned and not crowded when we were there. When the toilet kept running, maintenance came and fixed it while we swam and ate dinner although I now wish we had told them about the slow draining sink too. Would I want to stay here for a full week? No (other places sell cookies but I do like that touch at check in). But for a night or two? Sure, although I don't know what in-season pricing is so there'd be a limit to what I'd be willing to pay before selecting a rental instead. The location is really what you get here. It has a nice boardwalk and beach access, and if you have loyalty with Hilton, this is the best you can do without going to Morehead City.
