My family and I checked into the Holiday Inn Desert Club Resort on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at approximately 7:30pm. We were assigned a suite in Building 7. Upon entering the suite, we immediately noticed that the temperature felt extremely hot. (The temperature outside was 106 F). I examined the thermostat and noticed that it was set to “Cool On”, “Fan On”, the fan temperature was set to 73 degrees and the ambient temperature was 83 F. I decreased the fan temperature to 68 degrees (which is the lowest the thermostat would allow) and the temperature rose to 84 F within the hour. Sometime during the 9 ‘o clock hour that evening, I called the Holiday Inn Desert Club Resort operator and reported the room being 84 F and asked if there was anything the staff could do to either override the thermostat to decrease the suite temperature or bring some fans by my room. The operator said that the engineering team would take a look at the temperature, and someone would bring some fans to my suite. I fell asleep and woke up at approximately 11:30pm. When I opened the entrance door to my hotel suite, there was a fan on the ground outside of the suite. I brought the fan in and turned it on and it made the room feel hotter. My wife also tried opening the window in the master bedroom within the suite, but considering that it was approximately 100 F outside at the time, it just made the room feel even hotter than it already was. I went to the front desk at 12:05am and was able to talk to the on duty front desk clerk, Jake at approximately 12:15am. I explained the situation to him, and he provided me with a notice to owners & guest advising that the thermostat in all villas not be set below 75 F to minimize the risk to A/C units freezing up and requiring repair. He also informed me that a work order was submitted for the villa that I was staying in a few days prior to my arrival due to the A/C not blowing cold air, and Holiday Inn Desert Club Resort should have never booked me for that room while it had a pending A/C work order. He was able to relocate me to a different suite in Building 7, and this new suite actually had cold air due to the thermostat being set to 69 F (but the ambient temperature in the suite was 70 F). It is worth noting that the lady behind me waiting in line to speak to Jake told me that the temperature in her room (which was the second room she had been assigned during her stay) was also in the mid-80s and it appeared the property has problems with their A/C. From 12:30am – 1:10am, I relocated my family and all of our luggage to from the old suite to the new suite in Building 7, then returned to Jake to finalize the room change. My stay at Holiday Inn Desert Club Resort has been—by far—the worst experience I’ve ever had staying at a hotel. Holiday Inn is usually my “go-to” hotel when I’m travelling and in the past, I’ve experience top-tier customer service and hospitality. This is my first time staying at a Holiday Inn R
