We had a great 4 night stay at GoldenTulip in Jaipur. The hotel is hidden away behind the busy main road, but it's a great place to base yourself to explore Jaipur. The booking process was really easy, all done via email, with great communication by Zubair throughout our email exchanges. It was a nice surprise that Zubair also made an effort to come and meet me when were actually at the hotel. The booking process was easy and quick. We were made aware of building works going on to upgrade the hotel during our stay. Although this was a bit noisy as expected, during the daytime while they worked, it wasn't dusty or messy around or inside the hotel. It was quiet at night. And in fact, I think we were upgraded to suites on one of the new floors with refurbished rooms. The refurbs were done to a high standard with very big comfortable rooms. I would recommend one of the suites on the 4th floor. The hotel has good facilities with a rooftop pool, a restaurant and bar area. We booked airport transfers with the hotel. Our driver, Kamal, was great, very polite and very helpful, always one time. He ended up being our defacto tour guide, as we managed to hire the hotel car and driver for a couple of day trips while out and about in Jaipur. His driving was excellent, he was patient while we saw the sites and he gave us lots of local info. Highly recommend Kamal! The hotel restaurant had a wide ranging menu and large buffet breakfast with different varieties of food to cater for all tastes and spice levels. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly and polite - shout out to Shail, Harish, Lokesh and Chandra for making our meal times pleasant. We also met lots of other nice staff such as Ganga Singh (one of the cleaners), trainee housekeeping staff that were keen to learn and impress, porters Madan and Manmohan did a great job with our baggage, and reception staff were very helpful with Tamina and Neeraj for example. The hotel was kind enough for us to also have a late check out on one of the rooms and gave us a box of cookies as a parting gift. So kind of them to do so. I think the hotel will be in a really good place once the refurbishments are fully complete. The hotel is reasonably priced and well located to see Jaipur. I think it is used for business meetings as well as larger family functions - so best ask about those if you plan to stay there, just in case it gets a bit crowded and busy in the communal areas. We were lucky, only had a busy lunchtime on the day we left with a conference being held so the restaurant had been overtaken. Other than that, great stay at Golden Tulip! Thank you for having us.
