The worst hotel experience of my life. 1. They refused to give me back my things left in the room. We left Lille and France after checkout. On the way we remembered about our two jackets, forgotten in the room. We called the hotel and told them about it. We also called our friends and asked them to stop by Hôtel Lille Europe on their way from Belgium to Britain to pick up the jackets. At the reception they were told that they could not get our stuff. Because... they did not have the keys! The most ridiculous excuse I have ever heard! They advised me (by phone) to come the next day. This is a hotel, or am I wrong? People stay overnight and leave! And by the way, nobody promised that my jackets will be found next day! I consider this as theft of my things. 2. I have never encountered such rude attitude of the staff anywhere as in this hotel. Guests are treated here as if we are not the ones paying for the services, but the hotel is doing us the greatest favor by allowing us to spend the night at the hotel. The receptionists do not hide their irritation when communicating with guests. 3. In our double room there was only one blanket and one duvet cover. I had to cover myself with a towel! 4. On the website, in the list of what is provided to guests, parking is indicated. And not a word about the fact that this is for a separate, rather large fee. This is commercial deception. For example: the service ”breakfasts” is indicated, the cost of breakfast is 11 euros. Not a word about the fee for parking. In all hotels, the price of parking is indicated in the description. Here, parking was included in the list of what is already provided to guests. This is unscrupulous advertising. 5. Honestly, in one day, the hotel staff managed to ruin our impression of France and the French forever. Never again!
