Fantastic location within walking distance of the town. Very helpful staff with ordering a taxi or a tour or checking in early or out late. All with a smile. Right on the magnificent beach so you can have breakfast watching the sea . We had a room with a sea view , wonderful. Had the door open so could hear the sea at night. Would be five star except for slightly hard bed and uncomfortable pillows so sleep not great. Not a wide double bed - the side sea view rooms have the option of two singles.

The room we had was pretty large actually. We had a partial sea view with a small balcony. The issue I had with the room was that there weren’t many outlets. We had to unplug the bedside lights in order to plug in our mobile phones. It would be nice if they added some extension cords. The pool and sun deck was nice. It’s right on the ocean with a nice sandy beach. The breakfast was good with quite a lot of variety. The pizza bar had amazing pizza.

While having a month long stay in Funchal, I visited the ticket office for the Porto Santo ferry to look an options for an overnight stay on the island. Learned ferry does not go on Tuesdays so booked Sunday morning with return on Monday evening ferry. Booked this hotel with a sea view room with twin beds. The ticket agent called the hotel and made the booking. Once we arrived at the hotel, we were told the seaview rooms do not offer twin beds, only the standard rooms and side sea view rooms did. Odd that the ticket agent in Funchal did not know this. The hotel was not overly busy in late March. Beach access is fantastic and we walked from shuttle bus that drops you in town to the hotel. Breakfast was not overly ambitious. We walked down beach for dinner at a beach restaurant that was mediocre.

Had a fantastic time, hotel was perfect and staff so friendly and kind.Food was out of this world ,enjoyed every meal we had .Pool was clean and sea temperature fantastic.All I can say is try this hotel you will not be sorry.
