I’m on the fence about reviewing this hotel; here’s why: Pros: The hotel is in a great location, right next to a metro station, restaurants around, upscale/safe neighborhood, decent view of the Eiffel Tower from room (if you paid extra), basic amenities & that’s about it! Cons: Breakfast - The breakfast is pricey & mediocre (especially if you are a vegetarian, it’s not worth paying for it), the staff/employees weren’t too friendly or helpful, they stop breakfast at 9:30a on weekdays (we showed up at 9:20 one day & the manager was grumpy!), there are lines for their espresso machines & their mugs are super unclean! Front desk - They don’t have a concierge to help with questions or tours or directions. They don’t have bell staff or anyone to even help you with your bags or get cabs. The staff don’t reply to your emails about questions. They didn’t even provide details of hotel amenities, Wi-Fi, breakfast timing, complementary room amenities (practically 1 bottle of water for the whole stay) at checkin. It’s the most inhospitable staff I’ve seen in a 4-star hotel! Room - For an executive room for 2 adults & a kid, it was tiny. With a queen & a sofa bed, there’s no space to walk around (is it normal for Paris standards?). They do not provide any toiletries. I mentioned a few times that it’s our anniversary visit & they did nothing, not even a wish! How lame could that be! Between the breakfast & the ET view, I paid 40% more (yes, my fault) & the view was good but is obstructed with buildings & chimneys. I’m even a Accor member but unsure if I ever want to go back to another Novotel. I’m appalled that this hotel is rated 4-star in Paris!
