It’s a hotel that is clearly poorly managed where guests’ needs are not really taken seriously. 1. For the Marriott “guaranteed” 4 pm late checkout we’d have to change rooms (I raised the case with Marriott but the hotel hasn’t replied after 3 days). What’s the point if you have to move your luggage for a few hours? 2. Lifts mostly out of order (3 out of 5 working most days, only 2 out of 5 one day). 3. Ice machine on my floor never worked throughout my 4 night stay. 4. They wanted to charge 8 euros just to bring cutlery to the room - went to the bar to get it myself. 5. Breakfast is crazy if you go between 7 and 8:30 am, after that it’s better. Only found out on 3rd day that they cook eggs and omelettes to order. Nothing is advertised and the one wait staff clearing tables wasn’t interested in taking orders. 3 managers were standing at the entrance was one offered to ask the server but he also got ignored and went to the kitchen himself with my order. 6. The worst part is the club lounge. Very poor food selection (as per the review below) with flies near the food. Barely changed over several days. Nothing hot. Butter appeared on one of the 3 days but why not the other days?! Soft drink machine and wine machine out of order one day. No ice in the lounge. I had to walk to the bar myself to get it and suggested that they just put a bucket of ice in the lounge for the evening drinks. No follow up. 7. The worst thing that happened during the stay was staff walking into the room TWICE, first when delivering a welcome gift then at 10 am in the checkout day. One time I was in the toilet abs the other time I was naked. They knock abs enter without a few seconds without warning. This seems to be the culture here. I confronted housekeeping about this and I said I’m checking out if the room at 12 so I asked why did they enter both doors of the suite at 10 am. She said it “wasn’t marked down”. Ridiculous. 8. Moreover, the suite is 2 rooms cobbled together with 2 doors in between them and just a bad design with the sofa in front of where the bed would be (in front of a headboard). Not even a coffee machine with capsules - it’s Nescafé instant and powder milk. The ventilation protector fell down from the ceiling in the shower and the key insertion holder near the door came off. Yes this hotel’s location is reasonable and if the price is right, you can consider it with the massive caveats above. Just don’t expect the management to care about the hotel or your needs. It’s clear that it’s just poorly organised and needs new people to run things better and make things work. They are cost cutting in many areas (lounge food, eggs at breakfast being only secretly available etc..).
