Went to check in, saw the sign they no longer have breakfast. Clerk did offer to cancel the reservation. We stayed since lobby was ok and it appeared to be in a process of upgrade. Went to the other building where our room was. It smelled bad and was hot. The ac in the hall didn’t work. The floors were stained. Our top lock on the inside was broken. There was a couple in the parking lot arguing. Not a big deal, it happens. We saw the box spring and mattress looked awful. Appeared to have blood stains on it. It did have 2 layers of sheets so we decided to stay. Didn’t appear to have bed bugs. We had already been charged and were very tired. In the morning after a unrestful sleep my husband noticed what appeared to be blood underneath the table. We left. I called a couple of hours later as the bed bug welts started showing. The manager yelled at me and kept interrupting as I was just trying to make her aware of the problem. She continued to yell saying “that room” doesn’t have bugs. I told her well it does now. She again yelled, telling me to come back and she would show me. I should have told the clerk when I was checking out. I was already a few hours away. I believe she was the same person who checked us out. I said the marks usually take a bit to show up. Not the first time I’ve been bitten. Definitely not up to choice hotel standards!!!!
