OK, so this review is through the lens of a Diamond Accor member. This means that, yes, I have stayed at Accor hotels a lot and so have become used to certain things as being standard across the network. But going to this ibis, and it's like it almost doesn't belong in the network. Starting with the good - the location. Easily walkable from Museum station if coming straight from airport, and not far at all to buses, light rail etc. Shopping options are good for essentials (over the road in World Square mall, downstairs is a Coles) and plenty of places to eat out (Chinatown). I probably should have sussed something might be wrong at check-in. One person serving one other guest. Three others in the back room just talking. After a couple of minutes, one comes out to serve. Must have had her attention for about 30 seconds before she walks away, and someone else comes out. It didn't end there. Three people to check us in. No acknowledgment of Diamond status. No mention of the promised room upgrade as a member benefit (I know they can't guarantee it, but customer service would dictate to at least acknowledge they checked). The fact that I had checked on the Accor app before arriving and seeing that there were rooms in the higher brackets available during our stay, it was a surprise to not be offered one, or to not even have it mentioned. We did get the welcome drink voucher, but upon getting to our room, there was no welcome gift. This is usual in all Accor chains - even the ibis and ibis Styles! I just think the mgmt here is looking to cut corners wherever they can. Getting these little acknowledgmentsof loyalty make the difference and in this case, would make the other things like a tiny bathroom and no working AC a little more tolerable. An apparent 'upgrade' to their fire systems means you are now advised to shower, hair dry, and even deodorant spray all inside the tiny bathroom, with the door closed. Or risk a $1600 callout fee which will be charged to your account. Erm, maybe get better fire systems that aren't activated by deodorant? The TV had a dangling sensor underneath it which when all the lights were out, made for a torch-like presence so the TV plugs had to be switched off each night. There are blackout blinds which work well, and there is a nightclub/pub next door for which you can hear the sounds but nothing too disturbing. Especially when you can hear the next room's convo word-for-word and nighttime coughing! Breakfast on L2 does the job - buffet style, cereals, pre-cut fruits etc. Just don't ask for anything that isn't in front of you...it doesn't exist. I asked for a coffee...was pointed to the coffee push-button machine. Not quite the fresh experience I had wanted. Asked for fried eggs - not possible and got pointed to the scrambled eggs (which I had seen and did not want). Asked for oat milk...pointed to the machine with cow's milk. Hello, griping stomach pains. The machine only made coffee or tea. No warm milk on its own

You can’t miss the building – it stands out from the rest of the surroundings, it’s colourful, modern looking and just by looking at the building, you know it will be “arty” inside and yes, it is! The staff at Ibis Sydney Barangaroo are absolutely amazing and friendly. We felt so welcomed and not judged. Check-in was super-fast and efficient and we were given a key card to access our room and we were also advised that the sliding doors to the entry of the building closes by 10pm, for safety and security purposes but it’s all good… you can open the sliding doors with your key card. The accommodation is away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney city but it’s only a ten-minute walk away from the city and less if you want to go and visit The Rocks. No struggle to find our room, the number is painted on the door with large thick digits but kept with their theme “arty” – very easy on the eyes. Our room was compact, as mentioned in the overview on their web page, but it looked so fresh, clean and has all the necessary essentials you need. It comes with a sizeable working desk with an overhead lamp – perfect if you’re a worker, needing to touch up on your last-minute presentations or simply catch up on work, when traveling. Beds are comfortable and I was amazed that I couldn’t hear any traffic noise, I slept comfortably. Highly recommend this place for overnight or short stays and within the complex, you will find Lot 51 – café style breakfast, conveniently situated on Ground floor. You may have your breakfast on the go or dine in the comforts in their intimate lounge area. The barista makes the perfect coffee, he was the only one, running the show and handled all tasks with ease and a warm smile on his face. There’s a small range of breakfast options to choose from, we ordered Ham and Cheese Croissants, Fresh Fruit Pieces in a cup and a Chocolate Danish, accompanied with coffee and orange juice, most satisfying way to start my morning. Just pick and choose where you want to be seated and breakfast will be served at your chosen place. While you’re waiting for your breakfast to arrive, take some time to read a bit of history of ‘The Origins of Lot 51’ displayed on the wall, pretty interesting and other art pieces to admire. We didn’t wait long for our breakfast to arrive – the barista is super fast and efficient, highly recommend Lot 51 for a delicious start to your day and definitely Ibis Sydney Barangaroo for a comfortable and affordable stay.

제가 예약한 스탠다드룸은 컨벤션 전시 센터에서 도보로 10분 거리에 있었는데 친구가 호텔이 훌륭하다고 칭찬했어요! 위생, 편안함, 편의성 모두 매우 좋으며, 아침 식사는 채식주의자, 과일 섭취자에게 매우 친절합니다! 주변 환경이 매우 좋고 조용한 잠을 즐길 수 있으며 바쁜 도시 속의 조용한 거주지입니다.

Worst hotel I have stayed at by far. Could hardly wash my hair in the shower due to the water only drizzling out and no pressure. The bathrooms are TINY. Parking is absolutely ridiculous. I was on a trip for work, parking paid for with the room, only to be told that the carpark was full and I would have to park down the street (1km away) and pay for parking myself down there. Then when the parking was open, the card they gave me wouldn’t insert into the machine. Will never stay here again or recommend to anyone else.

Absolutely appalled by the state of the room we were given. Even the Budget Ibis's I've stayed at were held to a higher standard than this place. Upon entering our room we were greeted by a musty smell, which would make sense as there was mould from the top of the window to the ceiling. From there it got even better- Threadbare carpets, cobwebs, thick dust covering the tv, bed lights and headboard, filthy fridge that has obviously never been wiped out, stained linen, bathroom sink with the plug jammed so it was unusable...the list goes on! If it wasn't quite late when we arrived and we weren't leaving early in the morning I would have found alternative accommodation...even my 11yr old was disgusted and wanted to leave as it was, in her words, unsanitary! Absolute disgrace to the Ibis/Accor brand. The only positive was the free parking.
