Why House is an amazing hotel in a beautiful setting with amazing staff and a friendly atmosphere. There is so much to do in and around it and everyone is so helpful! The food is next level and I particularly recommend the Banana bread, but every meal here left me smiling and thoroughly satisfied.

Fantastic choice for our first few days in Sri Lanka. Beautifully set in manicured jungle gardens, this property is not to be missed as it's the perfect spot to unwind and relax, delight in the incredible food and service yet easily visit the local sights and town of Galle. The rooms are tastefully decorated with unique soft furnishings and dotted with sausagedog related items. The pool is positioned perfectly for sunbathing and is big enough for a few lengths in the morning. The food is locally sourced, fresh and prepared without fault to suit all tastes. Great for couples, families and even groups celebrating milestones. Henrietta and James have ensured that everything is covered, don't think twice about booking.

Wow! What a wonderful place. This was our final stop for three nights after a 10 day tour around Sri Lanka. From the moment we arrived we were warmly embraced in the ethos that Henrietta, the manager, has cultivated. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, the grounds delightful and the food was sublime. The staff were a continuous delight - attentive, warm and professional.

As a couple we stumbled upon Why House in Oct 2024 and enjoyed a fantastic few days in a small, luxurious compound just away from the hustle of the outside world. A step back in time with beautiful, large, clean rooms. Great staff and great food available if you want to eat in (which is recommended at least a couple of nights). The breakfast is a real treat and gets every day off to a good start. A short ride into Galle or along the coast is easy from Why House. Henrietta and all of the staff will ensure your stay is as perfect as you are hoping for in a beautiful part of Sri Lanka. We especially thank them for going more than just a few extra yards when we needed it.
