This establishment looks recently refurbished and is very clean, room amenities were good - coffee machine, kettle, biscuits etc.. bathroom clean and well supplied with towels, shampoo, soap etc.. The location is excellent right on the main street of Bunclody. We were comfortable in our room for the one night we stayed. We did not see any staff at all from arrival to departure - I do find these "key code at the door" accommodations a little soulless but if all you need is a bed for the night in a good location that is ok. There is a lift but I was nervous of using a lift in an empty building! We did have two problems: One was the "free Wifi". We were only able to connect a couple of times, mostly it was unavailable. We were on the 3rd floor and the connections to the Wifi were labelled 1st floor and 2nd floor so this may have been the problem but there was no warning we might not have the free Wifi. The second problem was the electrics in our room on the third floor were very dodgy. The bedside lights didn't always switch on. One of the sockets didn't work and the base plate appeared loose. The dressing table light started to flicker for no reason and at the some time the TV turned off! There was insulation tape roughly around a connection in the cable to this lamp (see photo). We were not happy to use this light or some of the sockets. The cost for our one night (a Friday) was €125 which we thought was a bit steep.
