Many things have changed here and the resort totally misses that WOW factor. We had visited way back in Sep 2017 and were super impressed with the hospitality, service and everything else. But this time, there was a lot that left us disappointed ! To begin with, the place doesnt look clean anymore and looks run down. Lots of cobwebs on most walls and ceilings. The rooms needed better cleaning too. The housekeeping (or for that matter most of the staff) seemed overworked and not in their best moods. We could see their reluctance in providing the service requested for. The restaurant was the star of the Intercontinental earlier. I can never forget the happy and obliging chefs Indrashish, Teja and so on from many years ago. This time around, the chef/staff were a bit clueless about our Vegan food requirements (despite having clearly mentioned during booking) and dint seem too keen to make something for us ... atleast in the first couple meals. They subsequently seem to warm up and obliged to dish out some items for us. That said, would like to make a mention of the smiling and helpful staff Sreelakshmi, Susmita, Pallavi, Adi narayana ... thanks folks. Chips and rusk everyday at high tea ! Really ! The beds in the rooms seemed a bit overly soft and needs an overhaul. The security staff at the beach were practically non-existent except during some parts of the day. This could potentially prove dangerous especially in times of high tides !! Same with the pool as well .. some attentive staff here would add to a better experience. The Amrtam spa was the saving grace. Puii, you were wonderful ! My kids and I enjoyed the spa experience. The kids activity center seemed run down too and there were no activities to keep the children occupied despite it being the peak Christmas holiday season. Overall, not a place we would return to unless some magic happens and the place is turned around for the good.
