We enjoyed a four night deal for bed, breakfast and evening dinner which was great value. The hotel is in a great location across from the railway station and on the Leeds/Liverpool canal. Easy walk (5 minutes) into town. Good size car park. We had a good sized double room on the first floor overlooking the patio/beer garden. Very comfortable bed. Tea/coffee making facilities. Rhubarb restaurant was lovely and the food was excellent. Nice bar area with a good range of cocktails.

This review doesn't relate to a stay at the hotel, but the purchase of gift vouchers. I purchased 2 vouchers for a relative for a 40th birthday gift. The cost of the gift included presentation and first class postage. A week and a half later the vouchers have still not arrived. The birthday event has been and gone. I rang to question their whereabouts at the end of last week, and was advised you have been having trouble with Royal Mail?? How does that equate? I was advised that someone had been waiting over 2 weeks for theirs so they had been resent to them. I was told the vouchers would be sent out to me again. Still not arrived. I had to just put up with printing out emailed vouchers that I was sent. Didnt look a nice gift at all. I wonder if this is what happens with all the vouchers people purchase online. A good way of making £3.50 for first class postage? Disappointing

Have been going to this Hotel for the last ten years or more and since it has been taken over by a company its lost its magic. The breakfast was nothing special, our canal view room was very tired for the price. Such a shame as will miss the views and walk along the canal to Skipton. If coming back to this area we will book elsewhere.
